Rhode Island Nursing CE Requirements

Total Hours Required: 10

Elective Hours: 7

Renewal Cycle in Years: 2

All RN licenses expire March 1st every two years.

All RNs in the State of Rhode Island who wish to maintain an active license are required to complete 10 hours of continuing education for license renewal.

For renewal, RNs must complete:

  • 2 hours of substance abuse.
  • 1 hour of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (per career)
